Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Isaiah Bozimo Esq has said that the State Taskforce on Human Trafficking and Ilegal Migration was carrying out aggressive sensitisation programme to discourage indulgence in such illicit act.
Bozimo stated this through a staff of the Ministry,, Ijeoma Nwanze Esq. during a Delta Broadcasting Service TV programme tagged : ‘”The Faculty”‘ anchored by a seasoned journalist, Mr. Mordi which was monitored in Asaba.
The Attorney-General who is the Chairman of the State Tasksforce on Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration said that the tasforce was inaugurated by the Governor of Delta State , Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to address the incessant cases of the youths being trafficked outside the shores of Nigeria for unnecessary exploitations.
The Commissioner listed such exploitations to include child labour and sexual exploitation among others.
He said that part of the terms of reference for the taskforce was to collaborate with the National agencies that was responsible for tackling human trafficking in persons to combat the menace in Delta State.
Mr. Bozimo, stated that there was so much eagerness by people to travel overseas, adding that they should move in a genuine and unquestionable way provided they are safe .
He said that the Taskforce had taken its awareness campaign to markets, motor parks, schools and churches even as he stated that they would soon engage traditional institutions in the fight against human trafficking and illegal migration.
