Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-uku, The Rector and core management staff of the institution have been nominated for award by Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation. According to the nomination letter issued to the institution the polytechnic was qualified for the award among the top 10 highly rated most Ethically Responsible/Least Corrupt State Polytechnics in Nigeria in 2021/2022.
For this reason, the polytechnic and Core Management staff would be presented with Corporate Certificate of Credence, Professional Ethnics Compliance Certificates whereas the Rector would be inducted into the Hall of Fame of Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation as an Integrity Icon of Nigeria, IION.
The Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation is an international anti-corruption non state actor with its headquarters at Lokoja, Kogi State. They major in conducting annual independent secret investigations and budget tracking using the instrumentality of conducting opinion polls, interviews with informants, distribution of multiple questionnaires and project site visitation without the knowledge of their target subject of assessment to avoid influence on their work.
They expose corruption where necessary, appreciate those responsible for helping to change the narratives of maladministration and corruption in both public and private sectors of Nigeria.
In the press release signed by Salih Musa Yakubu Executive Director/CEO and made available to the press, the Whistle Blowers of the centre visited and conducted same exercise thrice to Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-uku and to all the states of the federation amongst others they recommended the school and core staff for the awards and were ratified and approved by management.
The institution, Rector and core management staff have been collectively nominated to be so honoured for contributions to the service of humanity and their dexterity in public service delivery in Nigeria.
The event holds on Monday, November 21, 2022 at the institution’s Conference Hall at 11.00am.
As a benefit that come with the award, the centre has approved that 100 of staff and 100 students are to be trained for two days free on or before January 30, 2023 using part of the donor funds meant for 20,000 workers in 200 organizations on ratio 70:30 in Nigeria whose management have been secretly investigated and found to be ethically sound in service delivery. The letter to that effect would be presented on the day of the ceremony.
