CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE
The leadership and the entire membership of South-South Writers Union (SOSOWU) heartily congratulates all elected persons into various political offices across the various party lines in the South-South region.
The union felicitates with these statesmen and women called into public leadership and enjoins them not to jeopardize the confidence reposed on them by the electorate in their various states. In a release signed by Mr. Alaska Ekele and Dr. Ofonime Inyang, President and General Secretary respectively, the Union calls on these elected officers to ensure that the interest of the South-South region is factored into all their decisions and programmes calling on them to always endeavour to go back to consult the people that they sought mandate from in order to enhance policy direction and programmes that take the needs of the people into account.
The Union reiterate her commitment to align with and support the vision and programmes of political leaders set to implement people-oriented projects and who are desirous of working towards the progress of the generality of the South-South people in words and actions. In the release, the Union further states her commitment to partner with political, cultural, religious and economic leaders in the South-South to transform our society for the benefit of all. Once again, the Union enjoins the people of the South-South to remain peaceful, law abiding but vigilant in defending their electoral choices and their development aspirations as the country transits into a new governance dispensation.
