Founded in 2017 by a number of personalities under the pioneer chairmanship of Okwa Paul Okpor but formally incorporated in July 2018, the NEF seeks to foster unity and understanding among the 36 kingdoms and clans in Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal constituency, promote greater political and cultural awareness and liaises with similar bodies to attract development to the area.
Other objectives as itemised in the NEF’s constitution include its advocacy to redress the unenviable identity of the area as the only ethnic nationality without a public tertiary educational institution in Delta State, imperatives of stepping down electricity to boost power supply to the area from the Kwale/Okpai IPP which ironically feeds other parts of the country, prolonged neglect of the area in spite of its status as a leading oil/gas producing area and getting a fair share of the dividends of democracy due the area from the state and the Federal level.
