Delta State Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibuogwu has said the state government has put in place drastic measures to ensure that children who are at off school return.
The commissioner also revealed that the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborewori will develop all facets of primary schools across the state.
In his statement, “the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborewori is prepared in all facets in the development of primary education, he is prepared to see that good teachers, Infrastructures are put in place across all schools in the state”.
The Commissioner spoke to journalists at Asaba said without sound primary education the society will be affected negatively but that if the primary education is well-equipped the society will experience positive growth.
He appealed to parents whose children are participating in the ongoing national youth games not to be worried, stating the commission had put out plans and provisions for the affected children.
According to him ” the schools been used for the national youth games, we have made provisions for those schools that will be affected, we have made adequate provisions for effective teaching learning”
Adding ” they have nothing to lose, parents, pupils, and society should not entertain fear about that, immediately after the programme, we have told the chief inspector of education to inform the teachers of the schools impacted that we will extend teaching learning for a period of two weeks”.
