His lordship, The Rt Rev Festus Uzorka Nwafili made his pastoral visit to St Peter’s Anglican Church Obiaruku, where he admonished the church to work together as one inorder to move the work of God forward.
Bishop Nwafili said there is need for the church to go back to their first love and forgive one another,as the Year has been declared ” YEAR OF NEW BEGINNING”, At that God do not make a promise that He can not fulfill. He prayed for God’s blessing and a new beginning upon the members.
According, to the bishop Jesus used the samerittain to illustrate His earthly teaching as was recorded in the book of Luke charpter 17, that there is a place of gratitude which is a key to a new beginning, adding that no matter the condition you are, do not remain there but rise and go back to Jesus.
Rt Rev Nwafili advised the church to always pray with one voice and not with dissenting voice so that God will hear their prayers . He enjoined the church not to allow what they see around hinder them because God knows about all that concerns them, that they should be grateful and learn to give Him thanks instead of complaining of what God has done.
He said the Nine leapers whom God healed and did not return to say thank you received half of what God have for them while the samerittain among them return to Jesus to say thank you was not only heal but was made whole.
The bishop further said, that in LUKE chapter 10 to Illustrate eternal life, that the church should be kind and not to keep enemity of their Fore Father’s but be a good Ndokwa Man, Woman, Daughters and Sons and follows the commandments of God which is the sure way of life.
In conclusion, the bishop drew the congregation attention to JOHN charpter 13 verse 34- 35 that whatever makes them not to love one another should be put aside he stated.
