New Nigeria Peoples Party’s Mukhtar Umar Yarima has been reinstated as the lawmaker representing Tarauni Federal Constituency of Kano state by a court of appeal.
Yerima had earlier been sacked by a National and State Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal in Kano for allegedly presenting a forged copy of his primary school certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
However, an appellate court on Saturday, October 7, disagreed with the tribunal. It ruled that the tribunal failed to establish a case of forgery.
