The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested three persons over the death of late reporter of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Hamisu Haruna Danjibga.
The suspects, according to the police, were Mansur Haruna who happens to be a nephew to the deceased and his partner in crime, Ibrahim Nababa and the buyer of the stolen property of the deceased all of whom confessed to the brutal killing of Danjibga.
Danjigba, who was declared missing on Saturday, Sept. 16, had complained multiple times about the unruly behaviour of his nephew. After he went missing, a text message was sent to his family. In the text, the sender demanded N1m as part payment before the final ransom would be announced later. Sadly, his dead body was found on Wednesday, Sept. 20, dumped in a soakaway behind his house (read here). Multiple cuts were seen on his body when he was dug out.
Parading the suspects, Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Shehu Dalijan, said on receiving the report about the killing of the innocent Journalist, Hamisu Danjibga, Police had swung into action which the suspects were arrested. CP Dalijan, said the primary suspect, Mansur Haruna who happens to be a nephew to the deceased, has narrated to the Police how they struggled with Danjibga and subsequently murdered him.
Speaking to journalists while being paraded, Mansur Haruna, said his late Uncle drove him out of his house after noticing he steals.
