There was mad rush to Igbe Ogume in Ndokwa West Local Government on Thursday, October 12, 2023 by neighbouring communities to catch a glimpse of a goat that delivered a kid with two mouths and three ears.
The news of the goat spread like harmattan fire prompting people to race to Igbe Ogume to see for themselves.
The village square (olile) could not contain the uninvited guests. Most of the people that rushed to the scene couldn’t lock up their shops before leaving for the scene, while many others who had started preparing evening meal didn’t remember to put off the fire let alone locking up the kitchens. The lame crawled to the scene while others were carried on either motorcycle or bicycle.
They were seen in their tens discussing the matter. Some stood akimbo gasping for speech. Many simply said alu emeh (it’s a taboo) and suggested that the kid and nanny be killed to appease the village gods.
Most of the elders at the scene opined that there was need to consult widely before taking decision on what to do with the nanny and the kid. “It might be sign of good things to come to the village, who knows,” said one of the onlookers.
As at press time the kid and nanny are still alive.
