Rivers state governor, Sim Fubara, has said the state security operatives have been compromised after they teargassed him and dispersed water at him while on his way to the burnt Rivers state House of Assembly.
Speaking after inspecting the burnt complex, Governor Fubara said the facility was destroyed to “please somebody”. He added that he is ready to d!e for his state.
The governor asked the lawmakers to come out and tell Rivers state indigenes his offence for the attempted impeachment. He stressed that any attempt to remove him from office that is not justified will be resisted.
There are reports that he and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is his godfather are currently at loggerheads over the governance of the state. The lawmakers of the state had reportedly planned to impeach Fubara today October 30.
