Oborewori To Meet Ijaw, Itsekiri Stakeholders Over Ogidigben Multi-Billions Dollar Gas Project

In ensuring that investors key into his MORE Agenda, the Delta state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborewori to meet with stakeholders of ljaw and Itsekiri ethnic nationality for reactivation of the Ogidigben Multi-Billions industrial gas park project.

The state governor spoke yesterday Tuesday through the Hon. Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Hon. Chief Vincent Oyibode at Asaba, the state capital.

The commissioner said, ” the state government is planning to meet with the stakeholders of Ijaw/Itsekiri on how the project can be reactivated”.

He noted that, the Multi-Billions gas project when executed, 80 percent of Deltans will be gainfully employed, and other issues related the state government is handling are also germane.

According to the Commissioner, ” by the Grace of God, the state government will call a meeting for Ijaw/Itsekiri stakeholders to see reason why the Multi-Billions gas project must commerce, the project is key, and it is a project that is doable”.

He continued, ” once the project starts, I can authoritatively tell you many organizations will follow suit because it carries the Gbaramatu sea-port and other seaports”

” The project is huge, it is going to work, and we will intervene, we are consulting stakeholders.

Also noted that the state government is also planning on how to convert gas into wealth, saying the advocacy on flaring gas is on through various programmes by the ministry in ensuring establishment of Modular refineries, generating electricity through gas by building a turbine that is IPP.

While he urged investors to take and key into the MORE Agenda of His Excellency to establish electricity through the use of gas, and that it will help to reduce the gas flaring that is destroying the Ozone layer.
