One Ephraim Ukam has berated Nigerians who are quick to lynch petty thieves but hail politicians stealing billions of Naira.
He stated this after a mob descended on a man for allegedly stealing stockfish, achi and grinding machine in Calabar., Cross River State.
According to an eyewitness, Natty Chris, the suspect was nabbed on Saturday morning, November 25, 2023.
“Thief caught dis morning at Edim otop crescent. He stole oporoko, achi and grinding machine, Mata on going oo,” Natty wrote.
Reacting to the incident, Facebook users pleaded with him to beg the mob to not resort to jungle justice.
“The young man was hungry and needed to chatter for his stomach. Please show him some mercy and give him food to eat. What have we done to politicians who stole our billions?. Absolutely nothing. All we do is to hail and sing for them whenever they come around. It’s so bad,” Mr. Ukam wrote.
