Member Representing Aniocha North Constituency and Majority leader in the Delta State 8th House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi has proposed “Delta Merit Award Bill” to serve as a means to honor Deltans who have distinguished themselves in their various endeavors.
Nwaobi spoke to journalists at Asaba while explaining the importance the bill will have on individual, groups, or organizations if it successfully passed by the house.
He said, “the award is specifically centered on individuals and organizations capable of saving lives, and those who do things extraordinary”
He also revealed that the bill will serve as a moral to the young ones who look forward to those who have excelled as their mentor” just as he specifies the processes involved in the selection of those that will be recommended for the award.
He noted that “ to nominate an individual for the proposed award, all the details of the nominee most be scrutinized through a process setup by committee”.
