Adaugo freshen up please…he replied and left the room
Adaugo freshened up and came out for dinner, she sat in the parlour waiting patiently for her uncle to serve the food
She looked at Nero who gave her a bombastic side eye, she quickly stood up and left for the kitchen
Your wife doesn’t know how to cook? Asked Adaugo
Mr Royale stared at her and blinked twice, giving her sign to shut up
Oh I understand… she’s the man of the house… said Adaugo laughing
Adaugo please keep quiet….he shouted
I’m literally saying the truth because I don’t see reasons why she will lie comfortably on the couch busy with her phone while you’re here struggling to fix dinner… Adaugo stated with her hands in her pocket
She’s not feeling too well…Mr Royale lied
Adaugo looked at him from head to toe and left the kitchen, dancing to the parlour
She touched Nero by the neck but it was cold
I understand! She murmured and went back to the kitchen as Nero kept on staring at her amazed
Your wife is okay! Nothing is wrong with her! She screamed
Adaugo how old are you? Asked Mr Royale
I’m twenty-five years old… she responded
Twenty-five years old? Why ain’t you married yet? He asked
Because I don’t feel like,I don’t want to get married yet…I want to make money first… she said
Mr Royale turned and continued stirring the soup as he was sweating profusely
Adaugo helped him prepare dinner, she served the meal and called Nero to come over to the dinning room
See Aunty Nero… Adaugo spoke
Nero lifted her head up and listened to what she had to say
My uncle isn’t a house maid, even if he’s not the one taking responsibilities…..
A slap interrupted her, she held her cheek and stared at Nero who was bent on pouring her soup on her
I warned you!!! Nero yelled
Nero can you just calm down? Mr Royale shouted as the hot soup landed on his face
I warned you never to bring this thing here…Nero said
Adaugo pushed her chair aside and left the dinning room, she sat outside the compound meditating
A girl walked up to her, she sat beside her as Adaugo adjusted
You’re crying… Said the girl
I’m not… she replied wiping her tears
My name is Deborah, Debbie for short… she said
I’m Adaugo,Ada for short.. you stay in this compound? She asked trying to cover her eyes from the light which was reflecting on her face

I just came in today… said Adaugo
Ada!!! Mr Royale called
Adaugo stood up and ran in
Adaugo what is your problem? Do you want to go back to the village? He yelled
I prefer going back to the village than seeing your wife maltreat you here… she responded
Adaugo how’s that your business? Can’t you just respect yourself and age in this house? Am I complaining? He bellowed
Adaugo hissed and walked into her room, she lay on the mattress pressing her phone
Nero was busy in the market when Chizoba walked up to her, she threw her basket on the floor and faced Nero who was counting the vegetable seeds on the table
This one you ain’t smiling what is it? Zoba asked sitting on the bench
Nothing zoba.. she replied with a straight face
Something is eating you up Chinero, can’t you talk to me? She persuaded
Zoba I don’t know where Royale brought Adaugo from, that girl really got on my nerves yesterday…Nero spoke
I over heard your voice screaming at him yesterday night, that your useless husband sef… Said zoba
Imagine the stupid girl warning me never to send her uncle to the kitchen again, can you imagine that? Nero yelled
Calm down, she’s still a small girl who you can torture anyhow you like…i don’t even know why you’re complaining eh… Chizoba stated
She really got on my nerves yesterday but it’s fine… she replied
Neroooo, have you been on pills? Chizoba asked
On pills? How?
You’re taking contraceptive pills… Chizoba said
Of course! Who wants to get pregnant for that poor brat,I rather get pregnant for Titus… She replied
Chizoba stared at her and smiled
“I’ve got a plan” she murmured and stood up to go
