Delta Eight Assembly Reel out Achievements To Mark One-Year Anniversary

The Delta State House of Assembly on Tuesday has Reelout Achievements to mark her one year anniversary in line with the MORE Agenda of the State Governor.

The speaker of the 8th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Guwor Emomotimi Dennis highlighted the achievements during a press briefing as part of activities for the first year anniversary.

The Speaker said “On the 13th of June 2023 the Eight Assembly of the Delta State House of Assembly was inaugurated, that series of activities have been lined up to commemorate the Anniversary.”.

Guwor added that the eight assembly journey so far has been that of steady progress , purposeful and impactful Legislative year.

The speaker said, “The Eight Assembly, just like the preceding Assemblies of the Delta State House of Assembly, has lived up to the well established slogan, ” the most vibrant House of Assembly in the country”.

He revealed that “The state assembly have not in any way lowered the bar, rather have raised the bar, which is evident in the drafting and adoption of the 8th Legislative Agenda, saying it is a well-thought-out Legislative policy trust, that is both responsible and responsive and in alignment with the policy direction of the M.O.R.E Agenda.

Guwor noted that the past one year has been giant strides of impactful and strategic Legislative partnership engagement ,interventions, cooperation and collaboration with the Executive and Judicial arms of government and other critical stakeholders in enhancing the implementation of the M.O.R.E Agenda of Governor Oborevwori’s administration.

He maintained that “In fulfillment of the eight assembly constitutional duties, the House has screened and confirmed nominees for appointment as members of the State Executive Council and appointment into Government Agencies, Boards, and Commissions”

The speaker highlighted Some of the Agencies, Boards, and Commissions to; Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy, Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency, Direct Labour Agency (DLA), and more.

The speaker also hinted that “During the last one year, the House has also considered some notable motions and adopted resolutions ensuring the welfare and security of Deltans.

Guwor disclosed that “the house also supports Government policies that will ameliorate the economic pains Nigerians cum Deltans have been subjected to in the last one, adding that the eight assembly trust the M.O.R.E Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. ( Elder) Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori and appreciated his immense support in ensuring the ease of performing their legislative duties.

He, however, commends all the Principal officers and dependable Honourable members, for their unflinching support and encouragement, which has led to the outstanding success of recorded.
