The news making rounds with the title – Oborevwori One Year In Office: Ossai List Achievements Says Deltans Are Happy has been seen as misleading as it affects the people of Ogume in Ndokwa West Local Government, Delta State.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori Mr Success Ovie Ossai has described the one year of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in office as blessing to Deltans.
Ossai, while listing the achievements of the Oborevwori administration said the governor has kept to part of his campaign promises to Deltans. This maybe true but to the people of Ogume the governor has not kept to his campaign promises.
As if that was not enough, Mr Success Ovie Ossai published long list of projects embarked upon by the governor including the rehabilitation of 1.16km Ogume/Emu road. This report is not only misleading but a slap on the people of Ogume, nay Ukwuani people.
Since a year ago that this government came into power the people of Ogume have not seen Spade work by Delta State let alone Tractor on any part of Ogume. It becomes worrisome to see deceitful publication by media aide of governor.
In 2012, why publishing the one year achievement of governor Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan, they displayed picture of one smooth road somewhere and tagged it Kwale/Ogume road just to deceive the public. After deceiving the public, Ndokwa Vanguard refuted the publication with true pictures of the road prompting the public to know the true side of the story.
The unfortunate thing is that our people in government appear to have compromised hence they kept a sealed lip.
Funny enough, the Oborevwori claim on Ogume/Emu road was published by an Ogume man.
If misleading publication of this nature is coming from government it becomes hard for anyone to believe the long list of projects published and circulated by government except one is very much aware of the project.
