In recognition of his commitment to infrastructural development and foresightedness for technological advancements, Bldr. Professor Emmanuel Achuenu has been honoured with the Niger Delta Youth Council Merit Award for innovations and good working relationship with management.
Presenting the awards at the institution’s permanent site, the leader of the delegate, Comrade Ufuoma Victor Erharhine said the “the national leadership of the Niger Delta Youth council, the umbrella body of the youth of the nine oil bearing states that constitute the Niger Delta region deem it fit to promote leadership excellence.
Comrade Erharhine added that the core mission of the Niger Delta Youth council is to provide a platform for leadership training through massive enlightenment campaign, youths sensitization programmes, and symposiums meeting.
Erharhine also noted that the Niger Delta Youth council association is open to every youth who is posed to contribute their quota to the enthronement of meritocracy.
He maintained that the presentation of the award to individuals that have distinguished themselves in their respective human endeavor, adding that it was on that premise that the leadership the Niger Delta Youth council looked at and since assumption of office as the rector of the institution, and most especially your good leadership qualities with management, students, and commitment to infrastructural development within the three years you assume office.
He said, ” the things you have done you might not know the effect of it today, but we pray whoever that will take over from you should sustain the standard that you have set up and do more”.
While commended the management, and staff of the school for their cooperation and supporting the rector to achieve all the development in the institution.
In his acceptance remark, the rector, prof. Emmanuel Achuenu explained that most of the success stories couldn’t have been possible without the cooperation of the institution, especially the management, staff and students, saying that in an environment where there is rancor and quarry definitely such place will not be developed.
The Rector commended the group for going the extra mile of recognizing the contribution of the management in the running of the institution, noting that the award is for all management.
Earlier, while reeling out some of his achievements within three years in office, prof. Achuenu listed completion of 325 capacity building lecture hall, seamless solar power supply, illumination of the institution, training, and workshops and many more.
