Following the just concluded Delta State Local Government Election, the Chairmanship Candidate of the Labour Party ( LP), Prince Ferdinand Obaugo Chukwudi is set to challenge the declaration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate, Pastor Jude Chukwunweike, as the authentic winner of the elections in Aniocha South, at the constituted Delta State Local government election petition tribunal.
The LP candidate, prince Chukwudi disclosed this in a chat with newsmen at Ogwashi uku, the headquarters of the local government, said voters were disenfranchised because of unavailability of electoral materials for most polling units.
Chukwudi listed his polling unit 2, DSIEC Ward 4 , at Onihe Primary school Ogwahi- Uku and alleged that none of the Labour party agents signed any of the result sheets in the purported elections.
He also alleged that the DSIEC adhoc staff recruited to conduct the elections in Aniocha South were card carrying members of the PDP.
The Labour Party Chairmanship Candidate, Prince Chukwudi also alleged that the security agencies, particularly the Police , aided the PDP in carrying out their electoral fraud that included vote buying and outright intimidation of Labour party supporters
” So I am seeking for the cancellation of the elections, having not substantially complied with the provisions for conduct of the elections by DSIEC” he said.
