#EndBadGovernanceInNigeria: Hoodlums attack Red Cross office in Yobe, burn vehicles

Hoodlums attacked Red Cross office in Gujba, Maiduguri-Potiskum Road, Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, destroying property amidst the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria nationwide protest. 

The hoodlums also set ablaze three vehicles, including a Red Cross-branded Landcruiser and a bus. 

The Coordinator of Communications and Advocacy for the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Chima Nwankwo, who confirmed the incident to punch said that the authorities have been notified. 

“The office was attacked around 1pm this afternoon. Some of our properties, air conditioners, and vehicles were destroyed and they took some away, burnt our cars but there was no casualty,” he said.

They simply came to vandalise our property,” he added. 

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the State Police Command, Dungus Abdulkarim, on Friday revealed that 18 suspects were arrested in connection with Thursday’s violent protest and vandalism in Nguru, Potiskum and Gashua town. 

According to the PPRO, the suspects who masqueraded as peaceful protesters, set fire to public buildings and stole food items and empowerment equipment.
