The need for individuals and organizations to vigorously pursue peace, foster unity, peaceful coexistence and respect the rights of others has been stressed by the Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon (Barr) C.S. Possible Ajede.
Barr Ajede made this statement while receiving a peace and human rights group, the Global Socio-Economic & Financial Evolution Network (GSFEN), in his office today.
The Ukwuani Council Boss, represented by the Secretary to the Local Government in his brief welcome address, tasked the group to address areas concerning injustice and oppression in families, groups, and any issues that, however seemingly trivial, have the potential to trigger crises in communities.
Speaking further, Barr Ajede applauded the group for championing the initiative to pursue peace and justice for humanity, which he stated is backed by the constitution and is a noble cause to devote ones life for.
Meanwhile, the pragmatic Council Chairman assured GSFEN that the Council would partner with them, as their scope of work is in tandem with the Peace and Security initiative encapsulated in his administration’s #DoMoreAgenda.
Earlier in his presentation, Amb. Philip Onowu congratulated Barr Ajede on his re-election, describing it as an eloquent testimony to his previous administration’s achievements. He prayed for God to grant the Chairman the wisdom and grace to better serve the Ukwuani people this term.
Continuing, he stated that, the Global Socio-Economic and Financial Evolution Network (GSFEN) is primarily concerned with peace advocacy, diplomacy, education and awareness, mediation and negotiation, monitoring, and reporting.
Other areas of interest include: capacity building, policy advising, community engagement, networking and partnership building, fundraising, and resource mobilization.
