Ajede Sets To Inaugurate Ukwuani Mobile Clinics

Oct 11, 2024

In pursuance of his administration’s Improved Primary Healthcare Service Delivery, as encapsulated in the #DoMoreAgenda framework, the Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede, has disclosed that the Council is set to launch 24-hour mobile clinics in the LGA.

Barr Ajede recently made this disclosure during an enlarged meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Primary Health Care Authority (PHCA), Dr. Oshike Azuka, and staff of the authority in his office.

While addressing the health workers, the #DoMoreAgenda Torchbearer stated that the mobile clinic initiative was conceived to take healthcare services to the doorsteps of the Ukwuani people no matter where they live.

According to him, upon the inauguration of the mobile clinics, they will be providing 24-hour services across the LGA. “The mobile clinics will cover the entire LGA. They will go to our markets, churches, schools, private homes, and respond to emergencies anytime,” he said.

Continuing, he added that plans are in place to engage additional doctors and nurses for the efficient and effective running of the clinics round the clock.

“We have made arrangements to engage additional hands to join our doctors and nurses to ensure that the clinics run seamlessly,” he stated.

Speaking further, Barr Ajede emphasized that what his administration is doing is devoid of political reasons but solely for the Ukwuani people. “Our mandate is very clear, and that is what we must do—to serve our people and give them the best of the best,” he added.

He stressed that, what the Ukwuani Council is doing is in line with what His Excellency the Governor is doing in the health sector at the state level.

Meanwhile, the Ukwuani Council Boss has urged the health officers to brace themselves for the coming responsibilities that will come with the inauguration of the mobile clinics. He noted that, after the inauguration of the mobile clinics, his administration will commence a holistic revamp of the health sector in the LGA.

In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of Ukwuani PHCA, Dr. Oshike Azuka, expressed the authority’s appreciation to the Council Chairman for what he described as a laudable initiative, which, according to him, is taking healthcare services to a global standard.

Dr. Oshike thanked the Chairman for the fencing of health centers, supporting PHCA programmes and activities across the LGA during his success-laden first term and for continuing in repositioning of the PHCs in Ukwuani for effective healthcare services delivery.
