“Our president” Travellers hail Peter Obi as he “clears traffic” in Kogi (video)

Oct 15, 2024

Nigerian youths were filmed hailing Peter Obi in Kogi State.

According to an eyewitness, there had been a road block caused by angry trailer drivers and this caused traffic that extended for miles.

A police officer had allegedly shot the tyre of one of the trailers and the trailer driver, alongside his colleagues, allegedly revolted and blocked the road, refusing to move for other vehicles.

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the last general elections, was in the area and he is said to have left his car to plead with the trailer drivers.

The driver whose tyre had been destroyed (in brown kaftan) reportedly let go of his anger and posed for a selfie with Obi.

Other tanker drivers are said to have cleared the road then, allowing for free movement of vehicles.

Nigerians who spoke at the scene are seen hailing Obi as “our president” in videos shared online.
