In line with the ongoing repositioning for effective propagation of MORE agenda and You Matter Charity Foundation, Sir Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje, Chairman, Delta State Bureau of Pension, has been inaugurated as the Chairman, College of Patrons and Patronesses of Integrity.
Gbegbaje was inaugurated alongside, Elder Simeon Efenudu, former SSG and Head of Service of Delta State, who emerged as the Chairman, Elders Council of Integrity Group, at a colourful ceremony held in Asaba, the state capital.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairperson of the event, Dame Patient Okwuofu, stressed on the needs for members of Integrity Group to take seriously to heart the meaning of Integrity, noting that what attracted her to accept the position as a patroness of the group was the name Integrity and what the objective of the group, which is to promote the MORE agenda and You Matter Charity Foundation of the governor and the first lady.
Dame Okwuofu said; “As members of Integrity Group we must sit up and live up to the name Integrity. We have to think what we can do for the state and the governor to succeed and be recognised and not necessarily what the state can do for us. That is the way to get recognition.
“We should be bold to defend our governor. Many people are criticising the governor and those in government, so we have to brace up to the challenges. We should be interested in helping the governor to succeed.”
The Convener of Integrity Group, Dr. Oke Idawene, said the meeting was conveyed to formally interfaced with Patrons and Patronesses of Integrity Group of Delta State to chart a way in support to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who is the Grand Patron of Integrity Group.
He stated that as members of Integrity Group of Delta State, we must brace up in support of governor Sheriff Oborevwori, pointing out that the group has put modalities in place to organise a summit tagged, “vision four over four” where we will formally endorsed the governor second term.
Idawene commended the patrons, Patronesses and the ambassadors of Integrity Group for honouring the invitation, stating that with the formal inauguration of Patrons, Patronesses and the ambassadors of Integrity Group, the coast is now set for massive mobilisation in support of governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration.
In a remark, the Chairman, College of Patrons and Patronesses of Integrity Group, Mr. Gbegbaje expressed appreciation for the support and the confidence reposed in him by electing him as the Chairman College of Patrons and Patronesses of Integrity Group of Delta State.
He vowed to champion the cause of Integrity Group of Delta State towards the realisation of its objectives of propagating the MORE agendas and You Matter Charity Foundation.
“We must be seen as men and women of Integrity as our name indicated. We must portray ourselves as persons of high moral standard, which is the vanguard of Integrity Group.”
The highlights of the ceremony was the inauguration of Patrons and Patronesses of Integrity Group by the Secretary of the group, Barr Felix Offiah, PhD.
In attendance were the Chairman, State Civil Service Commission, Chief Mrs Roseline Amioku, Patroness, Mr. Fred Obi, a Patron, Ambassador Billy Ekele, Dr. Theresa Allanna, Barr. Brenda Itebu, Weyinmi Ufuoma, all of Integrity Group, Lady Bridget Ajala-Asindi, Director Contact and Mobilisation of Integrity Group, diaspora chapter, Hon. Patricia Asiyai, Lady Nneka Orah among others.
