The Delta State Direct Labour Agency said they are fully back on track to commerce rehabilitation of all failed portions of road in the state.
Briefing journalists after her budget defence, the Director General of the Direct Labour Agency , Engr. (Chief) Emmanuel Ighomena, revealed that DLA is primarily established as an interventionist Agency that has to fully participate in road maintenance, road construction and road rehabilitation.
The DG said one major challenges faced in the agency is the dilapidated equipment which has been in use for the past 25 years ago.
He said, despite the challenges, the DLA remains committed and dedicated to its mission, saying “we will still use what we have to maintain our roads, to patch and repair them while we hope that one day soon, more equipment will be added.
” But DLA has come to work. We are here to reduce, eliminate, and remove those potholes that destroy our cars. We have come here today; it is a better session and, therefore, a better plan for 2025.”
He disclosed that the Oborevwori administration is prepared to add more value to what the previous administration had done regarding the development of the state.
