The Delta State-owned Newspaper tabloid, The Pointer, has awarded the state commissioner for finance, Chief Fidelis Okenmor Tilije, for his unwavering support to humanity, and his contribution to infrastructural development across the state.
The award ceremony took place recently at Asaba, at the 30th anniversary of the state-owned newspaper.
Presenting the meritorious award to the commissioner, the pointer management noted that the award becomes imperative for his continuous support to the needy and the scholarship programme he has continued to dole out to students in pursuing their respective educational careers.
According to the management; ” Chief Okenmor Fidelis Tilije (JP) has made his mark in all spheres in the state, from community development, attraction of infrastructure, support for worthy causes of Ndokwa nation, he has also written his name in gold in the discharge of his duties as the state commissioner for finance”
While responding to the award, Chief Tilije expressed surprised that his modest achievements were noticed by the publishing body and that the recognition will spur him to do more.
