I’m Honoured To Present A Bill For The Creation Of Anioma State initiative – Ned Nwoko

The most distinguish Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko said that he is honored to present a bill for the creation of Anioma State, addressing a long-standing historical oversight. Anioma, comprising nine local government areas, boasts an impressive profile:

  • Rich Natural Resources: Six LGAs are endowed with oil and gas reserves, providing a solid economic foundation .
  • Significant Human Capital: Anioma is home to a vibrant, skilled, and educated population, making it an attractive candidate for statehood .

This initiative has garnered widespread support from key stakeholders:

  • Anioma Socio-Cultural Group: Izu Anioma has been vocal in their advocacy.
  • Pan Igbo Cultural Organization: Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo has also lent their support.
  • Traditional Rulers: Led by the late Asaba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozie, they have consistently backed the creation of Anioma State.

Numerous meetings have been held, including discussions with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to solidify consensus. The creation of Anioma State is crucial for achieving justice and equity in the South East. With majority support, it’s time to act and:

  • Correct Past Imbalance: Address historical injustices.
  • Ensure Fair Representation: Provide Anioma with a stronger voice in national affairs.

By creating Anioma State, we will:

  • Amplify Representation: Strengthen Anioma’s presence in the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly .
  • Foster Economic Growth: Unlock Anioma’s potential through targeted development initiatives.

Let us unite to make Anioma State a reality, promoting a more equitable and just society for all.And we can create a brighter future for the people of Anioma.
