Japa Syndrome: Doctors, Nurses Will Be Replaced Immediately, Says Onjaeme

Following the “japa syndrome” in the healthcare sector, Delta state Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has given a standing order to replace Doctors and Nurses posing challenges

The state commissioner for health, Dr. Joseph Onjaeme, disclosed this at Asaba, during an interview at the state House of Assembly.

Dr. Onjaeme commended the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, his for proactive measure in curbing the bureaucratic delays and ensuring continuity in healthcare delivery across the state.

Onojaeme added that the ministry will be focusing more on capital infrastructural development by providing advance medical equipments across healthcare centers and hospitals across the state.

The Commissioner also noted that the state government is equipping and upgrading over 150 primary healthcare centers and hospitals with state-of-the-art facilities, including radiotherapy equipment, which has been unavailable in the South-South region.

On projects, Onojaeme noted that majority of ongoing projects are 90 percent completion, adding that contractors have been given a timeframe for projects completion.
