Delta Assembly Lift Suspension On Two Members

Delta State House of Assembly, has lifted the suspension it slammed on two of its members, Hon. Chukwudi Dafe and Hon. Oboro Preyo respectively.

The lift of the suspension was sequel to the expiration of the 14 legislative day’s placed on them by the House over alleged gross misconduct.

The duo Honourable members, Hon. Chukwudi Dafe and Hon. Oboro Preyo represents Ukwuani and Bomadi state constituencies in the State Assembly.

Giving reasons for the lift, the speaker, Rt. Hon. Guwor disclosed that an investigative committee was set up to look into the alleged gross misconduct leveled on the lawmakers.

Guwor noted that though the committee was yet to submit its report, but the legislators were recalled following the expiration of the suspension date.

The House, at the plenary, granted leave to the Majority Leader, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi to enable him work on a Bill for a law to provide for the Establishment of the Delta State Food Security Agency.

The Honourable House also granted a leave to the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Arthur Akpowowo to also work on a Bill for a law to Repeal the Delta State Waste Management Board Law of 2008, and enact the Establishment of the Delta State Waste Management Board, and to maintain a system of Effective Waste Collection, Management, and Disposal across the state.
