The Minority caucus in the Ghanaian Parliament has described the administration of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the worst in the 4th Republic.
It said the current administration had performed abysmally as Ghanaians continued to face alarming economic hardship, huge debt overhang and high unemployment.
While reacting to the President’s message on the state of the nation address in the Parliament on Friday, January 3, the Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Kofi Armah-Buah, said
Share this story to friends“The people of Ghana have already given their verdict on the true state of the nation and that verdict is very clear; economic hardship, huge debt overhang, youth unemployment, hopelessness and more. We have come to the end of the road of what has been undoubtedly the worst government under the fourth republic.
This administration’s abysmal record was confirmed on December 7 when the people of Ghana returned the most overwhelming and emphatic vote of rejection of any government ever witnessed under the fourth republic.
Mr President, you will be remembered as the first President who was cushioned by the IMF when you began and you are still being cushioned at the end of your term,” he said.
Armah-Buah, who is the MP for Ellembele, described President Akufo-Addo’s tenure as a persistent timely reminder of how not to govern the country. He pointed out the ‘failure of the President to complete his ambitious National Cathedral project,’ saying that “Mr President, you left something very important in your account”.
“You left out an account of your promise to God to build him a cathedral. Mr President, I will leave that for you to be between you and your God”.
