Delta State Government on Wednesday role out another batch of relief items to the victims of flood disaster in the state
The Chairman of the State Flood Management Committee and Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, along with his Co-chairman and the Commissioner for Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Terry Etacherure made the presentation of the various relief items to the victims in Oshimili South, Ndokwa East/West, Patani, Aniocha north/south, Burutu, Bomadi and Ugheli south Local Government Areas of Delta State.
Accompanied by the ministry Permanent Secretary of the Bureau, Prince Gregory Ejiro Ejohwomu and the Director State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Mr. karo Ovemeso, presented the relief materials which included 720 bags of 50kg rice, washing soaps and insecticide treated nets to the local government chairmen who were on ground to receive the items.
Recall that officials from the State Emergency Management Agency visited the various Local Government Areas in the state to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the water levels in some communities that were ravaged by flood.
Speaking during the presentation, the commissioner noted that the relief items demonstrate the Governor’s unwavering commitment to catering for all residents of the State.
He, however, admonished the local government chairmen to ensure that the relief items gets to the vulnerable among them.
In response, the Chairman,Bomadi Local Government Council,Hon. Dagidi Andaye, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the State Government for the enormous support and relentless contributions to cushion the effects of the disaster on the victims and assured that the items will get to them.
This relief items distribution serves as a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s people-oriented leadership and commitment to the well-being of all Deltans and residents of Delta State.
