Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Onoriode Agofure has dispelled the rumour of unsafe conversion of Compressed Natural Gas,( CNG) vehicles, saying it is the most safe, cheap and affordable means of transportation.
Agofure stated this while reacting to a question of the rumour by Deltans of the safety of the CNG conversion at the state Secretariat in Asaba.
The Commissioner noted that the CNG conversion is the safest, and cheap means of transportation in Nigeria, “once you go to the authorized conversion centre, it is very safe, if you look at the cylinder, it is bulletproof, cheap and clean”
Hon. Agofure also hinted that the recent MoU signed by the state government with NIPCO company was an important deal that will benefit Deltans, noting that he was happy and looking forward to more better deals that will benefit Deltans in the transportation sector.
He explained that Asaba will be a pilot scheme for the project while plans are on gear to extend it to major cities across the state
Agofure also noted that the state government won’t be bringing a dime to the project, but her responsibility was to provide facilities for them to thrive.
According to him: “Delta state government is not bringing a dime to the project, our responsibility is our equity contribution, and the facilities for them”.
