PDP Ndokwa West Empowers 100 People In Ward 1 With 50,000 Naira , Wrapper Each

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ndokwa West in what it called ward-to-ward appreciation tour were at Ward 1, Utagba Ogbe yesterday. The thrust of the visit was to empower the constituents and reaffirm its gratitude for the overwhelming support received during the last general elections. The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, led other party Chieftains for the thank you visit.

Earlier in his address, the Ward 1 Chairman High Chief Napoleon Aduwe assured of their unflinching support for the party and appreciated the party for making him the chairman . He said with the crop of the Ward 1 Exco there is every possibility that they would deliver 95 percent votes during elections. He used the occasion to appeal for completion of Umusedeli road which has been abandoned by the main contractor that has defected to APC. He also made demand for the electrification of Utagba Ogbe and other Ndokwa communities.

The LGA Chairman of the party, Chief Anslem Nzete appreciated the party for increasing the empowerment slot of Ward 1 to 100 as against 50 persons in other Wards. He reiterated the fact that the Umusedeli road has been abandoned by the main contractor that has defected to APC, stressing that they were happy that he has left the party. “He was so selfish and ungrateful to the party that made him”.

Meanwhile, one of the strongest PDP supporters in the Ward 1, Mr Emmanuel Ejechi popularly known as Spotay gave a live cow to the Deputy Governor.

Responding, the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme assured that they would revisit the Umusedeli road and ensure its completion. On the the light issue, he said that they are doing their best to ensure that communities are lit up.

He went further to remind the people that since 1999 that democracy was enthroned in Nigeria, never had Ndokwa had it real good like now in terms of key appointments. He said the government of Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori has given appointments to over 90 Ndokwa sons and daughters in strategic positions in barely two years of governance and that in another two years the number would triple. He said the thank you visit would be done every three months.

The high point was presentation of 50 thousand Naira cash and wrapper to 100 party faithfuls and commissioning of PDP Secretariat along Kwale/Ozoro expressway, Utagba Ogbe.
