
The Private Public Mix Steering committee has been mandated to facilitate the comprehensive listing and mapping of all private health facilities within the state, by ensuring the active engagement of these institutions, fostering a collaborative environment where knowledge and resources are shared.
This mandate was given yesterday by the Delta State Honourable Commissioner of Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Philomena Okeowo ,at the Ministry of Health meeting room, Professor Chike Edozien Complex, during the inauguration ceremony of the Private Public Mix Steering Committee PPM.
According to Dr. Onojaeme,this committee signifies a pivotal moment in our commitment to strengthening our healthcare system and intensifying our fight against tuberculosis.
The Honourable Commissioner emphasized on the need to uphold this mandate as it will provide a clear picture of the states healthcare landscape and enable targeted interventions, disseminates government policies and best practices is another vital responsibility, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned with our strategic objectives. Regular bi-annual meetings, convened by the STBLCP secretariat, will provide a platform for policy guidance, strategic planning, and progress monitoring.
He urged members of the PPM Steering Committee to prioritize Capacity building and orientation on TB services by empowering members with the necessary skills and knowledge. Providing strategic leadership, assisting in policy interpretation, and reviewing engagement criteria are also essential functions.
Dr. Joseph Onojaeme further call for partnership and support advocacy and resource mobilization, with donors, corporate bodies, and other agencies.
He assured Deltans that, the Ministry of Health will ensure transparency and accountability through the PPM Steering Committee as the are committed in making a profound and lasting impact on the health and well-being of the people of Delta State.
