Delta State immediate past Head of Service, Sir Reginald Bayoko has urged his successor, Mrs. Minnie Oseji to build on the legacies and the foundation already laid, and he is ever ready and willing to render useful advice whenever the need arises.
Bayoko stated this in Asaba at a grand farewell ceremony organized in his honour by the Delta State Government after 35 years of dedicated service..
Bayoko highlighted many reforms, industrial harmony, enhanced salary packages and training as some of the achievements recorded during his nine years as Delta State Head of Service.
While urging his successor, Mrs. Minnie Oseji to build on the legacies and the foundation already laid, Bayoko gave an assurance that he is ever ready and willing to render useful advice whenever the need arises.
At the Olorogun Felix Ibru Secretariat Complex 1 & 2 as well as the Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat Complex, Bayoko urged civil servants to cooperate with and support his successor,by ensuring seamless implementation of government policies and programs.
He encouraged the state workforce to remain dedicated and be exemplary in their service.
The highpoint of the colourful ceremony was the ceremonial pullout of the outgone Head of Service, by the College of Permanent Secretaries, after inspecting a guard of honour mounted by officers of the State’s Fire Service, DESMA and Forest Guards, to the admiration of well-wishers
Mr. Bayoko started his civil service career in 1990 in the then Bendel State as an Investment and Loan Officer and rose to become a Permanent Secretary in 2006, shortly before his 40th birthday anniversary.
Ten years after being appointed as a Permanent Secretary, he became the youngest and the first Izon man to be appointed as Head of Service, a position he held for nearly nine years.
