A Senior Special Adviser to Delta State Governor on youth mobilization, Hon. (Chief), Ambassador Mayor Chnedu Enujeko has induced 120 persons into the Delta State Contributory Health Commission with a view of giving back dividends of democracy to his community in Obulu-Unor in Aniocha South Local Government Area.
Addressing journalists at the kind gesture, Chief Mayor disclosed that the gesture was for his constituents to feel the impact of Governor Oborevwori and what he (the Governor) is doing in the health sector.
Enujeko revealed that he always blamed political appointees for not giving back to their respective constituency, irrespective of how little the position might be
“ I blame political appointees for not giving back, no matter how little your position, the government is paying you, it is not only my vote alone that the governor uses to become the governor”
” It is the votes of my people, my constituents and I went campaigning telling them to vote for Governor Sheriff, he will so us good”
” As appointment reach me, SSA to the Governor on youth mobilization, I said, I have collected salaries from the government for one year, it will be worthy that I take a part of it and return it to my people, they are the owners, those people through their votes I was appointed”
Earlier, the Director General, Delta State Contributory Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, applauded the SSA for his generosity, adding that the initiative was in line with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, that aimed to improving healthcare for the poor.
He said, “the State Governor wants to make sure that even people in remote villages can get good healthcare, this programme will helps achieve that goal, and I am pleased to see community leaders stepping up to support it”.
Similarly, The traditional ruler of Ubulu-Unor, His Royal Majesty Obi Henry Kikachukwu, expressed gratitude, saying health is wealth, and it is wonderful to see that 120 people in my community now have access to healthcare.
The President General of Ubulu-Unor Community, Professor Mokobia Jiff, described Chief Enujeko kind gesture as motivating, noting that If all leaders did things like this, they won’t be need to campaign that people will naturally support them.
