The Senator Representing Delta North in the House of Assembly, Senator Ned Nwoko has alleged that Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is doing everything possible to defect to the All Progressive Congress in the state.
Senator Ned Nwoko disclosed this in Obeti Community in Ukwuani Local Government Area where he welcomed the Peoples Democratic Party Defectors, Hon. Leo Esegbue, a Former Commissioner along with his followers.
Addressing the PDP Defectors, Senator Nwoko, said joining the Ruling All Progressive Congress is a new beginning for progress, adding that there are still more to join the APC across the state.
The distinguished Senator assured the party faithful and the new members that the President will pay a visit to Delta in a few months to officially welcome all the new members in Asaba, the state capital.
He said :”your Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and Former Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, want to join APC too. The President told me they’ve been knocking on the door, asking to come in. But we told the President that we don’t want them in APC.”
Senator Ned revealed that they have already spent 25 years in PDP and didn’t support big plans like the creation of Anioma State, which he and APC now support, just as he expressed optimism that the President and the National Assembly will help to make Anioma State creation a reality.
Nwoko also harp on his big development projects in Ogwashi-Uku Dam, New Dam in Idumuje, and the Okpai Power Plant.
The senator said the projects, are very important for Delta North, while accusing the Incumbent Governor of not supporting it.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Leo Esegbue, said he left the PDP for not gaining the necessary support that he needed to achieve his dream of attracting development to his people.
“I offered to help for free, but they didn’t want to listen, instead, they prefer to award contract to themselves and divert the money to themselves. That’s why I left.”
When asked if he believed APC would help him achieve his goals, he said, “I will try. If they don’t, I will leave them too.”
He called on all Ndokwa Nation to support the APC and promised to speak to the President or Governor on their behalf if needed.
