Igala Community, leaving in Delta State, has said they have been neglected in government empowerments despite supporting the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) from 2010 before officially decamping to the All Progressive Congress recently.
The chairman and leader of Igala community in the state, Alhaji Abubakar expressed his concern when he spoke to journalists in Asaba.
While commending the state Governor for his numerous infrastructural development across the state for both indigenes and non to benefit, said the Igala community had not benefited from any of the government empowerments even in farming tools.
According to him; “Governor Oborevwori has done great, especially in infrastructure, security. When you travel between Warri, Asaba, Ughelli, and its environ the roads are now looking good, the Governor is working hard for both the Igala community and the people of Delta State”
He said; ” Igala people, who came from Kogi State and now reside in Delta State, haven’t benefited any empowerments from the government, the Governor has not given us any political appointments or empowerment support for farming, trading, and businesses”
He maintained that; “since i came to Delta in 2010, we have supported the government right from PDP before officially moving to APC”.
Alhaji Abubakar also said the recent move by the state to join the APC was a good move that will bring dividends of democracy to the state
He said,” before now we were like the tail, but presently we are like the head, we can speak up and be heard in Delta State and even in Abuja.”
