The Member Representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency under the Labour Party in Delta State, Hon. Ngozi Okolie has defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State
Disclosing this at his country home in Asaba, Delta State capital, the Honourable member said his defection from the Labour Party was as a result of the party unorganized at the national level.
Honourable Okolie explained that staying in a party that is not United and organized would not enable him to make the necessary progress
He maintained that his resignation from the Labour Party would enable him to attract all the needed projects to his community and constituency.
He said; ” a lot of people are resigning from their party and moving to out to APC, and today I decide to resign from the Labour Party today”
” My resignation from the Labour Party would enable me to attract a lot of progress and projects to my constituency, and to inform you that I am no longer a member of the Labour Party”.
“To be honest, I think that the Labour Party is very disorganized, we don’t have any head way, no directions and the lingering problem that is actually drawing us back”.
“So, staying in a party that is not organized would actually not make me progress in the National Assembly, so, I felt that if I resigned from the Labour Party and probably seek another party that will help me at least attract projects to my community and constituency”.
“ So, best for me instead of waiting for the Labour Party problem to be solved, which is unending”.
“ I am approaching the APC and you know the traditional rulers in Delta state have endorsed the President, the state Governor has moved to APC, the PDP have moved to APC, I think it would be to the advantage of my constituency to actually join them too”
” I have discussed with a lot of traditional rulers and also with my constituency and in my two years remaining tenure, I think it will be best to join the APC for the interest of my people”
The Honourable member also noted that he had consulted the state Governor before his defection from the Labour Party to the ruling All Progressive Congress.
