The Delta State Government has said it has invested about N17 billion in areas that are prone to flooding across the state from January to June 2025 to curtail its impact on Deltans.
In a document that was made available to journalists within the period in view through the Ministry of Economic Planning, it describes the projects undertaken by the state government.
The documents revealed major projects covered by the state government at different parts of the state, from Okpanam, Ibusa, Osubi, Sapele, Effurun, Abraka, Asaba, and rural and riverine communities.
While adding for clarification, the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Sonny Ekedayen said those projects were funded by the ecological fund by the state government from January to June 2025.
He maintained that lives and properties are top priority to the Delta State government and won’t watch farmlands and other valuables destroyed by floods.
