A Veran journalist and Chief Executive Officer of Meda Consult, Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli has unveiled “BEL DIALOGUE” in a historical event
The event, which also marked his 12th years anniversary as a media guru and consultant in practicing journalism, saw top government functionaries, traditional rulers, senior media gurus, friends, and well wishers in attendance in Asaba, Delta State Capital.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of the occasion, Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai commended the convener for taking the time to look into critical discussions on “Development: Understanding the Cost of Unregulated Land Acquisition in the Communities,” especially as it affects Government and traditional institutions in safeguarding community lands.
He noted that the theme of dialogue is not only timely but also urgent, pointing out that unregulated land acquisition has led to the displacement of many families, loss of livelihoods, and erosion of cultural heritage.
He emphasized that in many parts of the country, communities are facing the harsh reality of land grabbing, by external parties, criminal elements, and other strangers.
He maintained dialogue would therefore be a call to explore the processes for land acquisition, identify best practices, and foster collaboration among government agencies, traditional institutions, civil society, and community members.
He, however, urged the panelists to be profer advancing solutions that could address the disturbing problem of reckless acquisitions and grabbing of community lands, and the attendant displacement of local populations from their ancestral heritage.
Earlier, in his welcome address,at the unveiling of BEL DIALOGUE, the publisher and Chief Executive Officer, BEL CONSULT, Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli reaffirmed a collective commitment to community growth, responsible journalism, and meaningful development.
He said Ndokwa Reporters has stood as a pioneering voice, not just in Ndokwa Nation, but across Delta State and beyond.
He maintained the mission the community newspaper is to work “towards a better community development, and remains rooted in using the power of the media to bridge the gap between the governed and those in governance, by informing, advocating, and elevating community voices.
He explained that “The impact of BEL Consult work goes beyond news reporting, but helped deepen democratic engagement, advanced accountability in governance, and supported peace building through honest storytelling and community-driven narratives.
