As primary and secondary schools across Delta State resumed for First Term today, a prominent Ogume son and product of Ogume Grammar School has distributed exercise books to his alma mater including other primary schools in Ogbe Ogume.
About 400 of the students that resumed today at Ogume Grammar School, were given four (4) exercise books each.
Mr Ossaiga replicated the same gesture to the two (2) primary schools in Ogbe Ogume – Ezedogume Model Primary School and Olie Primary School.
The trio of Chris Okochi, Azuka and John Anamali represented the donor in the exercise.
In a telephone chat with Mr Ossaiga on why he decided to invest on the school children, he said he knew that with the poverty level in the country many parents may not be able to afford some exercise books for their wards on resumption which may deter most of the students from continuing their academic session. “The effects would be multi dimensionally catastrophic as some may resort to crime and gangsterism. The best approach is to nip it in the bud by coming to their aid in whichever measure available which I have done “
” I’m therefore using this opportunity to appeal to sons and daughters that are well placed to assist the students in any way possible. “
The students in the three (3) schools visited were all happy and showered encomiums on Mr Ossaiga. It was indeed a glorious day for the students as their parents are relieved of some burdens.
