The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers, Rt. Hon. Dennis Guwor has praised stakeholders for their contributions in improving state assembly functionalities in Nigeria.
Hon. Guwor reigned the praises during a consultative and validation meeting on the need assessment report of state Houses of Assembly in Abuja that was organized by the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) in partnership with the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
The meeting, themed “Promoting Good Governance and Citizens’ Access,” featured presentations, plenary discussions, and goodwill messages.
Speaking at the conference, Hon. Guwor
said the meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss critical reform based on key findings from the needs assessment conducted across the 36 State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria.
Guwor emphasized that strengthening institutional performance of state legislatures is crucial to national development.
