As education moves beyond paper and pen into digital learning, the Delta State government has reiterated its commitment to raising students beyond merely passing an examination, rather building students for a better future.
The Executive Chairman, Delta State Post Primary Education Board (PPEB), Professor Emmanuel Tibi, stated this during an interview in Asaba on the expectations from teachers as education and learning now move into digital.
Tibi explained that the board’s major role was to ensure there was disciplined monitoring and recruitment of teachers and also to ensure that teachers deliver the best standard in line with the state government policies.
He added that the current review of Nigeria’s school curriculum to suit the present digital education was a welcome one, but such review has not gotten to the state level; we are still waiting for official directives. Until then, we continue with existing structures.
According to him , “Education is not just about passing WAEC or JAMB; it is about preparing young people for life—giving them skills, knowledge, and the right values.”
Professor Tibi also noted the importance of vocational training and how the state government is committed to ensuring that schools deliver quality education to shape the future of students.
