On the Occasion of the Award of Excellence in Leadership
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,
I stand before you this day with a heart full of gratitude and delight. To be counted worthy of this Award of Excellence in Leadership is both humbling and deeply fulfilling. Whether the hall overflows with people or not, what matters most is that this event is holding — and after today, it would have held. That, in itself, is a milestone worth celebrating.
I am profoundly touched by the thought, the effort, and indeed, the financial commitments that have gone into making this occasion possible. It is not a small feat. I salute the organizers for their dedication and their clear understanding that excellence deserves recognition.
What makes today even more remarkable is the visionary step being taken — the launching of a Research Centre. This is not an overnight idea; it is a well-conceived dream whose time has come. The significance of this launch cannot be overstated, for it marks the beginning of something transformative — a critical intervention for our time. It is not for one person alone, but for all of us. It beckons us to collective ownership, commitment, and faith in a future driven by knowledge and purpose.
I particularly wish to appreciate all who have lent their time, energy, and intellect to this noble project — most especially the gentlemen and women of the press who are championing this cause. You are the voices that amplify good works and give strength to worthy visions.
Indeed, what we witness here today is more than an event; it is a statement of possibility, a product of positive minds, and a testament that great things happen when purpose meets passion.
I proudly associate myself with everyone who believes in this dream — a dream that has become a living reality in our time.
Thank you all for this honour.
God bless you.
