The Niger Delta Progressive Alliance has urged youths in the Niger Delta region to take advantage of the numerous Federal Government Social Intervention programme initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration.
The group gave the advice in a campaign awareness tagged “The Future is Here,” with a subtheme: “Empirical Perspective on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Two Years: A Strategic Engagement of Niger Deltans on Accessibility” in Asaba.
Speaking at the event, the convener, Niger Delta Progressive Alliance, Ambassador Victor Udoh, said the engagement was a clarion call and a duty to define the Niger Delta people.
He noted that the theme of the programme was neither a rhetorical flourish nor political optimism, but an intentional declaration that stands at the edge of a long-awaited inflection point, heralding movement.
According to him, “ This theme ‘ The Future Is Here,’ is neither a rhetorical flourish nor political optimism.” It is an intentional declaration that we stand at the edge of a long-awaited inflection point, heralding a movement. A movement that proclaims, with hope and conviction, that the future is no longer a distant promise”.
” That is why today we showcase more than speeches; we showcase proofs. Proof that the student loan programme is not a distant promise but doors are already opening, proof in Agriculture grant, the Nigerian youth involvement fund, CNG, and lots more.”
Also, speaking at the occasion, the National coordinator, Niger Delta Youth Council, High Chief Jatto Abido disclosed that the federal government under President Tinubu, two years in office, has navigated a challenging national and global environment with decisive courage and pragmatic policies aimed at rebuilding the Nigerian economy and restoring national stability among citizens.
He maintained that from the removal of subsidy and the unification of foreign exchange, the President has demonstrated the willingness to take necessary steps to reposition our economy through policies that, though initially demanding, have begun to yield gradual
fiscal stability and regular investment confidence.
“The renewed hope agenda has touched critical sectors in infrastructure, and massive road reconstruction and rehabilitation of a key transport corridor across the Niger Delta and northern Nigeria are ongoing, from strategic interventions to empowerment of local farmers to reduce food insecurity.”
The Commissioner for Youth, Delta State,Barr. Thank God Trakiriowei commended President Tinubu for the good things he has been doing for the past two years in office, from road infrastructure to empowerments programmes across the federation.
He, however, called on the youths in the region to tap into this available platform that is made available for us from the federal government.
