
…..calls for Governor support for utilities to reach out members

The Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), Delta State Chapter, has held its maiden edition of 2025 annual state conference and exhibition.
The annual conference and exhibition themed Leveraging on Technology for Business Growth and Expansion took place in Asaba, Delta State capital.
In her welcome address, the state chairman of NASME, Delta State Chapter, Lady Judith Nwachukwu, said the choice of the theme was apt with the advent of technological advancement and AI is fast becoming the key enabler of businesses.
She maintained that NASME owes a duty to its members to ensure that MSMEs have the requisite technological skills and knowledge to compete and innovate in the new economy that is evolving over the world.
She noted that the forum will help in enlightening and educating members and participants on the use of technology in the advancement of their businesses in the modern economic space.
According to her, “This conference, NASME, has placed on itself the responsibility of providing, promoting, and encouraging the growth of MSMSEs in our state and nation as we are conscious of the potency of our dream for a better tomorrow”.
She, however, expresses appreciation to the Delta State government and other corporate bodies that have shown belief in their vision and remained steadfast in partnering with NASME in its quest to build a functional and effective MSME in the state for the growth of a better Nigerian economy.
She also called on the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for support and other utilities to enable the union to move across the 25 local government areas
In his goodwill message, the chief adviser to Delta State Governor, Senator Chief Ighoyota Amori, commended the organizer for putting together the initiative, which aimed at empowering our people with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in today’s economy.
He said the initiative aligned with the state Governor MORE AGENDA on meaningful development, opportunity for all, realistic reform, and enhanced peace and security.
He noted that through the MORE Agenda, the current administration is creating an enabling environment for business to grow, and Delta State is positioning itself to be a technology-driven economy where creativity meets opportunity.
He added that when technology is properly harnessed, it gives the small businesses the need to thrive beyond limits; hence, our young entrepreneurs compete globally.
He, called on participants to take advantage of the digital opportunity to build their businesses, saying the state governor remains committed to supporting such progress and ready to partner, empower through digital exhibitions.
Others who spoke at the event also commended the organizer for her good work.
