The Women Wing of the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU) on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevweri, in a view to end the political Marginalization of the Ndokwa ethnic nationality.
The visit, which attracted top dignitaries of Ndokwa women, took place on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Asaba.
Speaking at the visit, the National Women Leader of NNU, Barr. Chief (Mrs) Cynthia Oputa, Governor, highlighted the aspirations, prospects, and challenges facing the contemporary Ndokwa society.
She stressed that those challenges reflect the long-standing call for socio-economic and political de-marginalization of Ndokwa people within the state.
She maintained that the delegation, Ndokwa women wing, is a unified voice, adding that the greatness of Ndokwa ethnic nationality is not in doubt, but there is a need for a mutually beneficial partnership with the state government aimed at achieving sustainable development and improved revenue generation for the area.
The group commended Oborevweri for her humility and leadership qualities, while likening her to the Biblical figure “Mother Ruth.”
They, however, expressed confidence that under her maternal guidance, Ndokwa women would contribute meaningfully to the long-awaited prosperity of their people.
