The Board of Trustees, Executive Council and the entire membership of South South Writers Forum (SOSOWFO) celebrates and congratulates Prof Sunny Awhefeada on his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Southern Delta University, Ozoro, Delta State, Nigeria.
In a release signed by Alaska Ekele and Prof Ofonime Inyang, President and General Secretary respectively, SOSOWFO considers this development a positive demonstration of excellence in contemporary tertiary leadership and thanks the Delta State Government and the Governing Council of Southern Delta University for choosing the right candidate for the right job. SOSOWFO notes that Prof Awhefeada is a notably fecund and grounded scholar and intellectual who has put years of meritorious service as a university teacher and administrator at the Delta State University, Abraka.
In addition to these roles, his career trajectory spans literary criticism, creative writing, arts journalism and active involvement in the promotion and advancement of the literature and creative heritage of the South South Region of Nigeria.
