The operative is the Nigerian police force that has rescued a kidnapped victim while suspected armed robbers are in custody.
The police disclosed this in a statement through their Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, in Asaba.
Edafe said the rescue of the kidnapped victim was followed through intelligence gathered on the reported kidnap of a lady (name withheld), aged 27 years, of Ibusa Community, where the victim was taken to a building site beside Obosi River along Ibusa/Ogwashiku Road on 12/03/26.
He added that the commissioner of police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, directed the command’s Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber-Crime squad to ensure that the victims are rescued unhurt and also ensure the possible arrest of the suspects.
He said while acting on that directive, on 19/03/26 at about 1500hrs, the Commander command Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber-Crime squad led operatives in the trail of the kidnappers.
“Upon approaching their hideout, the kidnappers opened fire on the team, and the operatives responded with superior firepower, causing the kidnappers to succumb and subsequently flee the scene, abandoning their captives.”
“The victims were rescued and taken to General Hospital for treatment. Efforts to arrest the suspects are ongoing.”
