The title of “Ogbuchai” was conferred on a twelve-year-old-boy, Abel Ekene at the palace of the revered monarch of Akumazi Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM Obi Henry Ezeagwukpo Jegbefume.
Ekene received the honour from the king after he killed a white rabbit while hunting in the bush, Ika Weekly Newspaper reported.
According to tradition in the community, anyone who kills a white rabbit/white animal would be recognised by the royal father.
Bestowing the title on Master Abel on June 5, the monarch congratulated him and urged him to continue with his good conduct among his peers and always respect his parents and elders in the community.
Speaking to the publication, Ekene said he is truly happy with his new position, saying that he will do his best to uphold the good name of his family.
